Contains the following type of material: photographs. Covers the following war: World War I (WWI). General description of the collection: The James C. Evans photograph collection is composed of widely varied material, but is significant because of his position. The collection contains numerous aerial photos taken over France during World War I (WWI) and a few photos of miscellaneous WWI ordnance subjects. All appear to be copies of official photos. There is a large series of photos showing amphibious training with the Pacific Fleet in 1948. There are two folders of photos showing copies of official photos featuring black soldiers during and after World War II (WWII). One folder contains photos taken of functions in 1950 and 1951 with Secretary Johnson, and finally there is a series of photos dealing with the school segregation crisis in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957.
